The second world war brings up many images of the firearms, uniforms and the machines used, especially those produced by the Nazis. However we forget how invasive the 'culture' created around Hitler's dream really was. How it permiated life in the populace and the soldiers.

During war it's not unusual for soldiers to take home souvineers. One of my uncles has a small box from when his father was in the war and among many personal items were some odds and ends that he had apparently picked up along the way.

Here we see a set of cutlery which may have come from mess kit or picked up off the dining table in a bunker for all we know. But the stamp at the base gives no question to their basic origins.

That's about as easy as finding a rose in a corn field - me

Souvineer hunting was a dangerous thing for a lot of much-wanted items. These, however, were probably easily had. (Smart of the man!).

An interesting item, thank you for sharing them. :)
